Scholarship Applications

Applications for The Richardson Scholarships for the 2024-25 academic year are now open. The deadline to apply is September 13, 2024.

How to Apply

In addition to submitting the appropriate Richardson Scholarship application found below, candidates are required to submit a one-page essay describing your commitment to Special Education and your long-term career goals.

In addition, all applicants must be accepted for enrollment or be currently enrolled as students in the Special Education program in the College of Education at the University of South Florida (Tampa campus).


The Richardson Family Scholarships

The Alice C. Richardson Endowed Scholarship

Level: Undergraduate 
Majors Eligible: Exceptional Student Education 

This scholarship supports scholarships for full or part-time new freshman or currently enrolled undergraduate students majoring in Exceptional Student Education in the USF Tampa College of Education. This scholarship is based on merit and can be awarded for two semesters.

The Laurie Ann Richardson Endowed Memorial Scholarship

Level: Graduate
Majors Eligible: Exceptional Student Education

This scholarship is for graduate students pursuing a Masters Degree in Exceptional Student Education in the USF Tampa College of Education. This scholarship is based on merit and can be awarded up to two semesters.

The Cathy Lynne Richardson Endowed Scholarship

Level: Graduate (Doctoral)
Majors Eligible: Exceptional Student Education

This scholarship was created to support doctoral students majoring in Exceptional Student Education in the USF Tampa College of Education. This scholarship is merit based and may be awarded for up to two semesters.

Jack B. Richardson Scholarship in Autism Spectrum Disorders

Level: Undergraduate, Graduate (Masters)
Majors Eligible: Exceptional Student Education, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Severe Intellectual Disabilities

To support scholarships for full or part-time students enrolled in a USF ESE degree program and in the certificate program for "Autism Spectrum Disorders" or the "Disabilities Education: Severe/Profound". Graduate students who already have their ESE degree and are now enrolled in the certificate program may also qualify.
