About
Student Council for Exceptional Children
Creating a better world by improving the educational outcomes of children with Exceptionalities, the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) is an international community of professionals who are the voice and vision of special and gifted education. CEC is one of the largest advocacy organizations for students with disabilities in the nation.
The ßÙßÇÂþ»â€™s local chapter, SCEC, is a subsidy of the national organization. USF’s SCEC Chapter 399, is a dynamic organization comprised of diverse students who share a common concern for the future of children with exceptionalities. As a local chapter of SCEC, we seek to improve educational outcomes for children with exceptionalities through advocacy, education, and local community engagement.
SCEC is open to energetic and committed ßÙßÇÂþ» students, regardless of major, who share
the commitment to improving the educational outcomes of all children, particularly
those with special needs. Members of SCEC have the opportunity to become engaged with
USF faculty, staff, and students and business and community leaders to actively pursue
local projects based on the identified needs of our community to increase awareness
and foster support and opportunities for children with disabilities.
We invite you to become a member of SCEC Chapter 399 and join our student advocacy
group to increase awareness, foster understanding and respect, support equity based
legislation and volunteer in the local community.
