Tutoring Hub
Welcome
The Tutoring Hub at the Academic Success Center offers USF undergraduate students subject-specific tutoring for a range of supported courses. It provides two types of in-person tutoring services:
- Drop-In Tutoring: Available for General Chemistry, Calculus, Organic Chemistry, Physics, and Statistics. No appointment is needed—just come by for in-person support from peer tutors.
- Book-A-Tutor: Group sessions for General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, and Calculus. These sessions require an appointment.
Both drop-in and group tutoring sessions take place in LIB 206 on the 2nd floor of the Tampa Library.
Drop-in Tutoring
- This service is open to all USF undergraduate students enrolled in selected courses. For a complete list of available courses, visit the Tutored Courses page.
- There is no limit to the number of hours each student can drop in for tutoring support.
However, services are provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
- There may be waiting times during peak hours and periods such as mid-term and final exam periods.

- If additional assistance is needed, students can book up to 4 online subject tutoring appointments. Visit The PORTAL page for more information.

- Students interested in group tutoring can book appointments through . Please refer to The PORTAL for how to book an accudemia appointment.
- We will do our best to students who seek tutoring for the same course, depending on request volume and tutor availability.
- Students can book up to 4 online grpup tutoring appointments per week.
- Each Study Group session will be 50 minutes and led by a ASC Tutor.
- On the day of the appointment, at least two group members must be present to access the study group room.

iN-PERSON Tutoring Expectations
To ensure a productive tutoring session, please following the expectations below.
Before the session, please:
- Bring course materials such as textbooks, notes, laptops, and calculators.
- Note: Please be advised that the ASC expects students to review textbook and notes prior to tutoring sessions. This initial review will help students narrow down the specific areas they would like to review with tutors.
- Be prepared with topics and questions for discussion.
- Expect tutors to help with understanding concepts and applications of concepts, not graded assignments (e.g., quizzes and exams).
During the session, please:
- Stay focused when working with a tutor.
- Refrain from disruptive behavior, as the ASC is an active collaborative learning space.
- Remember that tutoring is a supplement to learning in class, not a replacement for attending class.
Afer the session, please:
- Complete the .
- Speak with the Academic Assistant team to review the ASC in-person and online tutoring hours for additional support.
- Review any concepts and questions completed during the session to reinforce understanding.
