APM Overview

Academic Peer Mentors (APMs) are fellow ßÙßÇÂþ»­ students who are enthusiastic about helping you succeed by offering individualized guidance to develop study strategies, explore major and career options, and seek resources to overcome barriers and enhance your journey at USF. 

Individual sessions are centered on your needs and may focus on topics such as:

  • Time Management
  • Organization
  • Test/Exam Preparation
  • Learning Strategies
  • Textbook & Scholarly Reading
  • Motivation & Procrastination
  • Campus Involvement
  • Academic & Career Exploration
  • Campus Resources

How do I schedule an APM appointment? 

APMs are committed to helping their peers learn and thrive on campus.

Visit to schedule your face-to-face or online appointment or email us at ASC-PeerMentor@usf.edu.

  • If you schedule an appointment through Accudemia, please refer to The PORTAL for how to book an accudemia appointment. The steps for booking AMP are similar to those for online tutoring subjects.
    • For in-person appointment, select Academic Peer Mentoring Appointment under the Academic Success Center.
    • For online appointment, select Academic Peer Mentoring Online Appointment under the Academic Success Center.

Face-to-face appointments are held in LIB 231 (Library second floor), and online appointments are held via Microsoft Teams.

What can I expect from my appointment? 

During your appointment, you and your APM will discuss your goals and experience at USF. To prepare for your appointment, please keep the following in mind:

  • Academic Peer Mentoring is available for all undergraduate students via one-on-one appointments.
  • Each appointment lasts up to 50 minutes and may be face-to-face or online.
  • Appointments begin at the top of the hour (e.g., 4:00 PM).
  • Students may make up to 4 appointments per week up to one week in advance.
