Mya Breitbart, 鈥渧irus hunter鈥� at the CMS, named Distinguished University Professor

Mya Breitbart, a biological oceanography professor at the USF College of Marine Science (CMS), published a landmark paper in the Proceedings of the National Academies of Sciences (PNAS) about a new sequencing technique called viral metagenomics. The method eventually formed the backbone of Breitbart鈥檚 impressive research portfolio, and it鈥檚 a big part of the reason she has earned so many accolades, most recently, Distinguished University Professor (DUP) at USF.

Distinguished University Professor Emeritus Robert H. Weisberg was elected as an American Geophysical Union鈥檚 (AGU) Fellow. Professor Weisberg was selected for his pioneering observational and theoretical work explaining tropical and coastal ocean phenomena of interdisciplinary and societal importance.
