In the wake of the hurricane, the ßÙßÇÂþ»­ continues to demonstrate a powerful commitment to community – mobilizing students, faculty and staff across Tampa Bay. While there’s much work to be done, many of these efforts began before the historic storm surge devastated parts of the region.

A team of researchers led by ßÙßÇÂþ»­ St. Petersburg GIS and Remote Sensing Professor Barnali Dixon used the CRIS-HAZARD app to analyze real-time flooding in Pinellas County. The web-based application gathers crowdsourced data to identify flooding and inform policy in vulnerable coastal communities.
