Professional Development

Charles B. Rangel International Affairs Summer Enrichment Program
The Charles B. Rangel International Affairs Summer Enrichment Program is a six-week summer program designed to provide undergraduate students with a greater understanding of current trends and career opportunities in international affairs.

Department of State Internships
The U.S. Department of State Student Internship Program has unpaid and paid internships with the opportunity to work in U.S. embassies and consulates throughout the world, as well as in various bureaus located in Washington, D.C. and at Department offices around the United States.

Florida Gubernatorial Fellowship
The Florida Gubernatorial Fellows Program is a nine-month tenure in Tallahassee providing Fellows with advanced on-the-job training and a view of the inner workings of government.

Harvard-Kennedy Public Policy Leadership Conference
The Harvard Kennedy School’s Public Policy Leadership Conference (PPLC) is a three-day intensive workshop that aims to inspire talented and driven first and second-year undergraduate students to pursue careers in public policy.

Phi Beta Kappa Key into Public Service Scholars
The Key into Public Service Scholars program highlights the wide range of opportunities for arts, humanities, natural science, social science, and mathematics majors to pursue careers in local, state, and federal government.

Public Policy and International Affairs Junior Institutes (PPIA)
The Public Policy and International Affairs (PPIA) Institutes seek high-potential undergraduate students to participate in an intensive seven-week program before their senior year to prepare them for influential roles serving the public good.

Udall Scholarship
The Udall Foundation recognizes college sophomores and juniors who demonstrate leadership, activities in public service, and commitment to issues related to Native American nations or the environment.

The Rangel Graduate Fellowship aims to attract and prepare outstanding young people for careers in the Foreign Service of the U.S. Department of State through two years of graduate study, internships, mentoring, and professional development activities.

Thomas R. Pickering Foreign Affairs Fellowship
The Pickering Graduate Fellowship aims to attract and prepare outstanding young people for careers in the Foreign Service of the U.S. Department of State through two years of graduate study, internships, mentoring, and professional development activities.

Truman Scholarship
The Truman Scholarship recognizes young changemakers, providing professional development training and graduate school support for students planning to work in public service careers.


International Opportunities

Language Study

Boren Scholarships and Fellowships
Boren Awards are funding opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students to study less commonly taught languages in world regions critical to U.S. national security interests and underrepresented in study abroad.

Critical Language Scholarship
The Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) is a fully funded summer overseas intensive language program and structured cultural enrichment experience designed to promote rapid language gains.
