Design By Making
On behalf of the faculty and staff of the ßÙßÇÂþ» School of Architecture & Community Design (SACD), we are pleased to welcome you to our Design by Making Summer Program. Our main goal is to inspire our next generation of architects by introducing them to the many sides of the profession.
The SA+CD’s Design by Making Summer Program enables participants to explore architecture from a designer’s viewpoint. The two-week program, for students entering grades 9 to 12, introduces participants to different design methods within a studio environment. Working closely with faculty and community architects, participants experience different design challenges utilizing freehand media, model making, and digital design. In addition to daily studio workshops, the program includes several field trips to significant buildings and professional studios within Tampa, St. Petersburg, and Lakeland.
