Summer Grants
The Humanities Institute Summer Grants are open to tenure-earning and tenured faculty whose research falls under the NEH definition of the humanities. Awards are up to $5,000. These funds may be used for travel for research, archival work, essential project-driven equipment, publishing support, research assistance, or summary salary.
2025 Summer Grant Award Applications are OPEN.

- Funding disclosure
- 2 page CV
Applicants Notified
March
After applications are reviewed and scored, applicants will be notified via email of the decision.
Fund Transfer
April
The Humanities Institute will work with department managers or URAs to transfer funds to faculty research chartfields.
Spend Grant Funds
May - August
Faculty spend their awarded grant funds.
A grant report will be sent out at the end of August to complete.
Summer Grant Reports Due
October
- Faculty submit Summer Grant Reports to Liz Kicak.
- Unspent funds will be returned to the Humanities Institute
