Major Charles Jones V serves as the Associate Professor of Naval Science and Marine Officer Instructor the ßÙßÇÂþ»­â€™s NROTC program. 

Major Jones was born in Havelock, NC.  He attended Auburn University and earned his undergraduate degree in Supply Chain Management. Major Jones commissioned through the Platoon Leader Course in 2012 and attended The Basic School in 2013.

Following the completion of The Basic School in 2013, Maj Jones executed orders to 3d Assault Amphibian Battalion (3dAABn), Camp Pendleton. He spent two months conducting on the job training before attending Assault Amphibious Officer Course.  Upon graduation, Maj Jones was assigned as a Platoon Commander in Bravo Company, 3d AABn.  In 2015, his platoon attached to V2/5 and deployed on the 31st MEU. Maj Jones returned to 3dAABn to serve as the Executive Officer for Headquarters and Service Company. Maj Jones received orders to report to 5th MEB, now known as TF51/5, in July 2016.  He served as a Watch Officer in the Joint Operations Center.

In July of 2017, Maj Jones received orders to report to Assault Amphibian School (AAS), as the Headquarters and Support Company Commander and Operations Officer. Following his tour at AAS, Maj Jones executed one-year orders in 2020 to Marine Corps Training Mission in Dubai, UAE as a foreign advisor to the Presidential Guard. In 2021, Maj Jones received orders to 3d AABn where he served as the H&S Company Commander.

Major Jones completed Expeditionary Warfare School and the Marine Corps Advanced Maneuver Warfare Course. He also earned an MBA from the American Military University Master’s Program. Major Jones also completed Basic Airborne Course. He is a proud member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc., the father to two daughters named Charleigh and Emarie, and a husband to his wife Candice. His personal awards include (2) Navy/Marine Corps Commendation Medal and (1) Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal. His hobbies include physical training, sports, water sports, snowboarding, skydiving, vacationing, and pursuing further education.
