ROTC Living Learning Community
Overview
Being in a Living Learning Community (LLC) is a great way to maximize your residential experience at USF!
WHAT IS A LIVING LEARNING COMMUNITY?
LLCs are residential communities designed to provide you a cohort experience with peers that share similar academic, career and co-curricular interests. Benefits of being in an LLC at USF include experiential learning opportunities, networking events, field trips, leadership development, and civic engagement opportunities among other things!
Research shows that students who participate in a Living Learning Community have higher GPAs, increased relationships with their faculty and academic peers, and feel more connected to their college experience.
WHAT IS SPECIAL ABOUT THE ROTC LLC?
The ROTC LLC was started in 2011 and is truly "joint" with students of the Army, Naval and Air Force ROTC as residents. The LLC will provide students the opportunity to live in a community with other students who are headed down the path of a commission in the U.S. Armed Forces. They will learn the traditions, customs, and culture of each military service in order to develop a sense of camaraderie and identification. The LLC will also provide a built in network of peer support that encourages excellence.
Residents will be assigned to live in the Maple A residence hall, a suite style residence hall just three minutes from the ROTC building and attend exclusive social and academic events.
