On November 7, the Patel College of Global Sustainability took part in a tree planting on the Tampa Campus. This tree planting was made possible by a donation from the USF Federal Credit Union to the PCGS Green Initiatives fund. PCGS was pleased to have the opportunity to continue our efforts to green the campus as a part of the Tree Campus USA program.

Tree Campus USA is a national program created by the Arbor Day Foundation, which recognizes colleges and universities who employ effective campus forest management and engage faculty, staff and students in conservation goals. The has been named a Tree Campus USA since 2014, and tree plantings like this one help maintain that designation--while also creating a more environmentally-friendly campus.

Attending the tree planting was PCGS Dean Govindan Parayil, PCGS faculty members Kebreab Ghebremichael and Louis Zunzuge, Assistant Director Kelly Gaskell, and PCGS Staff Shirley Boyd. The USF Federal Credit Union was represented by CEO Rick Skaggs and Chief Marketing Officer Debbie Clark.
