Fulbright UK Summer Institute Program
The Fulbright UK Summer Institutes are fully funded three-to-four-week programs for U.S. first and second-year undergraduate students. There are multiple institutes offered at different higher education institutions in the United Kingdom (UK). Each Institute has a theme, and themes range from climate change and the environment, to identity and nationhood, film and media, arts, activism and social justice.
Participants explore the culture, heritage and history of the UK. Depending on the Institute, students will have the opportunity to:
- Study alongside leading academics and professionals
- Develop knowledge in specific fields
- Experience cultural and social events
- Visit UK cultural sites and areas of scenic beauty
- Receive credit to transfer to their home institution
- Meet people from different backgrounds and cultures
- Become an ambassador for studying in the UK, for the Fulbright Commission and their host institution(s)
ELIGIBILITY
- U.S. citizen
- Little or no study/travel outside of the U.S. or North America
- Minimum 3.7 GPA
- At least 18 years old by the start of the program
- Have at least two years of undergraduate study remaining after the Institute finishes (first year or sophomore at time of application)
