Two USF online programs rank in the top 25

Several of the ’s online graduate programs are considered among the best in the nation, according to the 2024 Best Online Programs rankings released today by U.S. News & World Report. 

USF’s online MBA program in the Muma College of Business is ranked No. 22, which represents a significant jump of 73 spots over the past five years. U.S. News also ranks the same online MBA program No. 20 for best business analytics and No. 40 in best for veterans.

USF’s online graduate business program (non-MBA) ranks No. 23 for veterans and No. 52 overall.  The online graduate engineering program comes in at No. 58 and the online graduate education program ranks No. 70.

“The is proud to be recognized for having some of the nation’s best online programs," USF President Rhea Law said. "The latest rankings reflect USF’s commitment to delivering high-quality online instruction that meets the educational needs of our students, and the workforce needs of the Tampa Bay region and the state of Florida."  

USF continues to expand its broad array of fully online programs, which combine relevant curriculum with the flexibility to meet the unique demands of graduate students, including many working professionals. This particularly rings true for USF’s online business programs, which attract a wide range of students from a variety of academic and professional backgrounds.

“We are proud of the rigorous, relevant education we provide through our online graduate programs,” said GJ de Vreede, interim dean of the USF Muma College of Business. “Our students graduate with timely business skills in artificial intelligence and analytics that employers expect for in-demand jobs.” 

The U.S. News methodology for graduate online programs considers factors such as graduation and retention rates, admission requirements, peer reputation, faculty credentials, technology infrastructure and student support services. The weight of each category varies from program to program.

In September, for the fifth consecutive year, USF placed among the top 50 public universities in U.S. News’ annual ranking of the best colleges in America. In addition, in 2023 USF became the first public university in Florida in nearly 40 years to be invited to join the Association of American Universities, a group of the leading 71 public and private research universities in North America.
