The USF Office of Veteran Success is honoring veterans in the USF community by showcasing their military experiences in a new multimedia project titled, “#WeMarchAsOne.” The name was selected to recognize the consolidation of USF’s three campuses in Tampa, St. Petersburg and Sarasota-Manatee while also sharing a message of perseverance and community support, despite the COVID pandemic.
“The goal is to share the diversity of veterans across all three USF campuses by illuminating the many different reasons that people join the military, highlights from their service and what that experience means to them as individuals,” said Aimee Carpenter, operations manager for the Office of Veteran Success.
Seven veterans representing all five branches of the military with various backgrounds were interviewed virtually for the project. Two of the participants were also photographed with personal mementos that represent memorable moments from their time in service to help viewers visualize these important times in their lives. The project will be shared during Veterans Week alongside other student-veteran biographies and photos.
