Genspiration Global Explorers Scholarship
The Genspiration Global Explorers (GGE) scholarship provides recipients with $10,000 to use towards an approved international or domestic travel experience during their time at USF.
GGE scholarships are awarded to qualified prospective (those currently applying to USF) First-Time-In-College (FTIC) students who have been accepted at one of our three USF campuses and who commit to joining the Judy Genshaft Honors College at USF.
SCHOLARSHIP OVERVIEW
The Genspiration Global Explorers scholarship is a competitive award that aims to inspire and empower students who choose USF Honors because they desire the enriched wholistic educational experience of studying aboard made available by the Judy Genshaft Honors College.
These intrepid students know that it is the experience of thinking and acting with others that drives innovation, strengthens community, and energizes personal growth. Moreover, they instinctively know that learning from first-hand international experience is critical for widening understanding, integrating abilities, and amplifying the capacities necessary to make a positive difference in the world.
Engaging in international experiential learning means making courageous choices that expand understanding and vision beyond the horizon of familiar places, conversations, and ideas. It means “putting oneself out there” and encountering all that human experience and personal growth can be.
Study abroad can fast-track personal and professional development. It potentiates long-term effective leadership within civic communities, businesses, professional associations. As the central gateway to appreciating the diversity of contemporary human experience, it opens innovative pathways for nurturing a Healthy Humanity, a globally Engaged Citizenship, and a Sustainable Future for us all.
To explore the globe through scholarly travel is to integrate both empathetic and intellectual connection with the daily lives, memories, dreams of others whose life-experiences have been shaped by very different histories and environments. It is to explore the wisdom and challenges of different ways of life that widen our sense of belonging and contribution. It is, in short, to become a global citizen capable of generating the “big ideas” needed from thought leaders in the twenty-first century.
