Experiential Learning Expo
WHY SHOULD I ATTEND THE EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING EXPO?
Through the Experiential Learning Expo, you can connect with community partners and learn about opportunities for you to get involved beyond the classroom!
- Serve a local non-profit organization
- Find an Internship
- Get involved with Research
- Apply for Study Abroad/Away
- Earn Leadership positions
- And more!
Why is Experiential Learning important?
To graduate with Honors distinction, all Honors students must complete the Honors Experiential Learning requirements. Students will complete a total of two activities, selected from two different categories:
- Career & Leadership Experience
- Community Service
- Creative & Artistic Experience
- Global Experience
- Research
Experiential learning extends your academic experience beyond both the walls of a classroom and your major requirements and allows you to put your knowledge into practice, testing and refining ideas through diverse experiences such as internships, study abroad, or community action. In turn, practical lessons gained through experiential learning inform and enhance classroom learning. Additionally, participating in experiential learning will make you a more competitive applicant for graduate school and job opportunities after graduation.
Attending the EL Expo is a great way to explore your options and connect with people who will enrich your educational journey in the Honors College!
