USF Receives $3 Million NSF Research Traineeship Award to Advance Semiconductor Research and Education
The ßÙßÇÂþ» (USF) has been awarded a $3 million grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) through its Research Traineeship (NRT) program. The five-year initiative, titled "NRT: Science, Technology, Engineering, Program for Upward Partnership (STEP-UP) for Advancing Microelectronics Education and Training," aims to advance semiconductor education and research while addressing the growing need for skilled professionals in the microelectronics industry.
Seven USF Engineering Faculty Recognized with Outstanding Research Achievement Awards
Seven faculty members from the USF College of Engineering were among 27 USF faculty members recognized for their achievements. The honored faculty members represent various departments, including Civil and Environmental Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, and the Center for Urban Transportation Research.

Spirou unlocking mysteries of brain development with advanced imaging and virtual reality
Through high-tech imaging and virtual reality, medical engineering professor George Spirou is creating a detailed map of the brain that can be used to better understand developmental disorders, such as autism, and provide earlier, more effective treatments for brain injuries and diseases.
Professors Sylvia Wilson Thomas and Daniel Yeh selected for Florida Inventors Hall of Fame
Thomas and Yeh are among the nine inductees in this year’s class receiving the prestigious honor for their notable contributions to scientific and technological advancements.
"Yogi Goswami's inventions are placed around the world. He developed a new combined Power and Cooling Cycle now known as the Goswami Cycle."

Dr. Passaglia Tackles Glaucoma with Novel Technology
Dr. Passaglia and his lab published two papers related to intraocular pressure: "Characterization of intraocular pressure variability in conscious rats" and "Simulation of gravity- and pump-driven perfusion techniques for measuring outflow facility of ex vivo and in vivo eyes."

USF has been awarded the AUTM Better Project Award, thanks to USF's Technology Transfer Office, Civil & Environmental Engineering professor Daniel Yeh and Yeh's NEWGenerator, a solar-powered innovation providing off-grid water sanitation for people in remote locations.
