NRT Trainee, Isabelle Eskanos, wins best poster award at the Florida Semiconductor Summit

Ashok Kumar, Ph.D., professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and USF NRT Program Director, and NRT USF Engineering Student Trainees, (Isabelle Eskanos, John Maurer, and Ahmed Ahmed) participated in the on February 25th-27th at the L3Harris High Technology Center, Melbourne FL. 

NRT Trainee, Isabelle Eskanos, received the Best Poster Award for her presentation titled "Surface-Engineerable Piezoelectric PVDF Films for Tissue Engineering." Isabelle was advised by Associate Professor Albert Kim, Ph.D., Associate Professor in the Department of Medical Engineering at USF. She was recognized for the outstanding quality of her research, the design and organization of her poster, and her excellent presentation skills.

Other NRT Trainees Presentations: John Maurer and Ahmed Ahmed both presented at the summit under the advisement of Assistant Professor Dayane Reis, Ph.D., Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at USF. 

  •  John Maurer presented a survey on “A Survey on Computing-in-Memory (CiM) and Emerging Nonvolatile Memory (NVM) Simulators”.
  • Ahmed Ahmed presented on “HIDE: A Hyperdimensional In-DRAM Encoder for Fast and Energy-Efficient Classification” under the advisement of Dayane Reis).

Professor Ashok Kumar, Ph.D., participated in the Panel Discussion, “Advancing Semiconductor Innovation: Bridging the Talent Pipeline for the Aerospace and Defense Industry” with other panelists, Dr. Amy Bonecutter-Leonard (L3 Harris Technology), Dr. John Harris (Florida Institute of Technology), & Dr. Tiffany Barnes (Valencia College).
