INFORMS Student Chapter
The INFORMS student chapter at USF () started its journey to the medal stand in 2009 with a Cum Laude award and then a Magna Cum Laude in 2010. Thereafter, for the years 2011 till 2023, has been awarded the Summa Cum Laude honor ten (10) times, while the remaining three years USF chapter remained on the podium receiving one of the other two awards. This is a remarkable performance streak, and the past and present members of should be immensely proud. The chapter holds many distinguishing activities including Del and Beth Kimbler Lecture Series, training workshops for undergraduates on software like Python, R, MATLAB, and CPLEX, AI/ML Club, assisting the department on faculty hiring, community engagement through organizations like Metropolitan Ministries, and international potluck lunch fundraiser. Above all, fosters an environment of nurturing and camaraderie among all students.
IIE Student Chapter
The Institute for Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE) Student Chapter remains active throughout the year and organizes a sequence of activities including plant tours, guest speaker presentations, social events, tutoring sessions, career counseling events, community projects, and participation in the Engineering EXPO. Since 2008 the USF IISE Chapter has received several recognitions including: National Award of Merit by IIE, Bronze, Silver, and Gold national chapter awards by IIE, USF EXPO Best Student Organization award, and Florida Engineering Foundation award. The IISE student chapter at USF won the Gold National award, the highest possible student chapter accolade, numerous times since the year 2011 till 2023. Look for them on Facebook at IISE.
