McKnight Doctoral Fellowship Program
Deadline: January 15 Privately funded five-year fellowship open to US citizens only. Applicants must be African-American/Black, Hispanic/Latino, or Native American. Available only to incoming PhD students who must apply prior to their enrollment. Enrolled PhD students are ineligible to apply.
USF Presidential Doctoral Fellowship
Deadline: January 15 By departmental nomination only. $32,000 per year, plus tuition & fees, student health insurance, and up to $1,000 per year for travel support for up to five (5) years. Students must be a new, incoming doctoral student. Available for both domestic and international students.
USF Office of Graduate Student Success Fellowship Programs
Deadline: January 18 By departmental nomination only. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident of the United States. Students must be a new, incoming doctoral student. A Master's student from USF who is entering the doctoral program may be considered for this award.
USF Delores Auzenne Fellowship
Deadline: January 18 By departmental nomination only. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident of the United States. Students must be a new, incoming doctoral student. A Master's student from USF who is entering the doctoral program may be considered for this award.
USF Kosove Graduate Scholarship
Deadline: Check website for 2020 deadline. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen (no exceptions), received acceptance into a USF graduate program, and earned a 3.25 or higher grade point average. Applicants must have demonstrated capacity for leadership and interest in improving the human condition and be otherwise of good character.
NSF Florida-Georgia Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (FGLSAMP) Bridge to the Doctorate Fellowship
Deadline: Contact Dr. Jose Zayas-Castro for information. Applicants must meet the following criteria: 1) Must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents; 2) Have earned a STEM degree from an LSAMP member institution; and 3) have participated in LSAMP activities as an undergraduate. Funding based upon the availability of funding from NSF.
Alfred P. Sloan Foundation University Center of Exemplary Mentoring (UCEM) Graduate Scholarships

Ford Foundation Fellowship Program
Deadline: December 10 (Dissertation, Postdoctoral), December 17 (Predoctoral) Privately funded fellowship open to US citizens only. Applicants must be African-American/Black, Hispanic/Latino, or Native American.
National Defense Science Graduate (NDSEG) Fellowship Program
Deadline: Check website for 2020 deadline. Must be citizens or nationals of the United States.Open to graduating seniors, 1st or 2nd year graduate students.
U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Computational Science Energy Graduate Fellowship
Deadline: Check website for 2019-2020 deadline. Must be U.S. citizens or permanent resident aliens who plan full-time, uninterrupted study toward a PhD degree. Open to undergraduate seniors and first-year graduate students (M.S. degree or Ph.D. students without an M.S. degree).
NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP)
Deadline: October 22 Must be US citizens or permanent resident to apply. Open to graduating seniors, 1st or 2nd year graduate students. Students may apply once in their graduate program.
NASA Space Technology Research Fellowship
Deadline: Check website for 2019-2020 deadline. Open to U.S. citizens and permanent residents. Graduating seniors and graduate students who have completed no more than 24 months of full-time graduate study.
NASA Florida Space Grant Consortium Fellowship Program
Deadline: Check website for 2019-2020 deadline. Open to US citizens only. Provides one-year M.S. fellowships to attract students to space‑related careers.
GEM Consortium Fellowship Program
Deadline: Check website for 2019-2020 deadline. Privately funded fellowship for US citizens only. This program is targeted for students from groups underrepresented (African American/Black, Hispanic/Latino, and Native American) in engineering, computer science, and the applied biological, physical, and geosciences.
Science, Mathematics and Research for Transformation (SMART) Scholarship for Service
Deadline: December 1, 5 p.m. EST Must be a citizen of the United States, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, or United Kingdom. Graduate applicants must be either currently enrolled in a regionally accredited U.S. college or university or awaiting notification of admission to such. If awaiting admission, you must be accepted for entrance in the fall 2020 term.
Microsoft PhD Fellowship Program
Deadline: Check website for 2019-2020 deadline A two-year fellowship for PhD students at North American universities pursuing research aligned to the research topics carried out by Microsoft Research. Students must be in their third year of a PhD program in the fall semester. Must be nominated by universities with submission by department chair. Direct applications from students are not accepted.
Facebook Fellowship Program
Deadline: October 4, 11:59 p.m. PT While open to students in any year of PhD study, a heavy emphasis on research and publication record for Facebook Fellowships favor students who are further along in their course of study.
Facebook Emerging Scholars Program
Deadline: October 4, 11:59 p.m. PT Open to first or second year PhD students. It is designed to support talented students from traditionally underrepresented minority groups in the technology sector, to encourage them to continue their PhD studies, pursue innovative research, and engage with the broader research community.
AFCEA Ralph W. Shrader Graduate Diversity Students
Deadline: April 10 Open only to U.S. Citizens. Must be female or minority student enrolled in 2ndsemester of graduate program. Have a current GPA of 3.5 or higher at time of application. Must be enrolled in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, Electrical Engineering or other qualifying programs (check website).
Schlumberger Foundation Faculty for the Future Fellowship Program
Deadline: Check website for 2019-2020 deadline. Must be female and citizen of a developing country or emerging economy. Must be enrolled, admitted, or have applied to a U.S. university.
AAUW Selected Professions Fellowship Programs
Deadline: December 1 Must be female, U.S. citizens or permanent residents; and intend to pursue full-time master’s program in computer science/information sciences, engineering, or mathematics/statistics.
AAUW Dissertation Fellowship
Deadline: November 1 Must be female, US citizens or permanent residents. Applicants must have completed all coursework, passed all preliminary exams, and had the dissertation research proposal or plan approved by November 1.
AAUW International Fellowship
Deadline: November 15 Must be female and have citizenship in a country other than the United Students. Applicants must have earned the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor’s degree by November 15, and must have applied to their proposed institutions of study by the time of the application.
