Recent Endowments
Julia and Samuel Flom Endowment
The mission of the Julia and Samuel FLOM endowment is to promote engineering education to students, teachers, and STEM faculty, and to support the research and academic endeavors of one or more faculty members in the Civil and Environmental Engineering. Dr. James Mihelcic is the current holder of this endowment.
Vasant Surti Faculty Chair
The Dean of the College of Engineering and the Chair of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering have established the Vasant Surti PhD, PE Faculty Fellowship in Civil Engineering. The faculty fellowship is awarded according to strength in research as evidenced by peer-reviewed journal publications, funded PhD students and post-doc scholars, in addition to support and funded research projects. Dr. Qiong Zhang is the current holder of this endowment.
Susan A. Bracken Faculty Fellowship.
The purpose of the Susan A. Bracken Faculty Fellowship is to provide a faculty fellowship in the College of Engineering. The Dean of the College of Engineering, or their Designee, will select the recipient from the faculty of the College of Engineering with a preference given to faculty in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. Annual earnings could be used to enhance their teaching and research, to support graduate students (excluding scholarships) or for other items such as travel. Dr. Christopher Alexander is the current holder of this endowment.
