Social Work Research Labs
Below are Research Labs led by Social Work faculty.
SOCIAL WORK INTERDISCIPLINARY RESEARCH LAB (SWIRL)
The Social Work Interdisciplinary Research Lab was established in 2019 to address the multiple issues that lead to gender-based violence against women and children in underserved settings around the globe.
Social Work ACCESS LAB
The Social Work ACCESS Lab researches and implements evidence-based, low-intensity psychological interventions to treat depression and anxiety in under-resourced settings where little to no mental health services exist. These interventions are called “low intensity” because they require less resources to implement and can be delivered by laypeople with no previous training in mental health. Guided by community-, human rights- and justice-based frameworks, the ACCESS lab helps the most vulnerable communities identify and sustainably implement efficacious interventions to treat common mental disorders.
