Dr. Khalilah Louis Caines is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Instruction. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Colorado -Boulder (’02), received his MSW from Saint Leo University (’11), and received his Ph.D. in Public Affairs from the University of Central Florida (’23).
Dr. Caines is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Qualified Clinical Supervisor and currently services as the MSW Advisor for the Sarasota-Manatee Campus.
Dr. Caines’ utilizes her research to improve the lives and communities of underserved and marginalized individuals, families, and communities. As a practitioner, she has more than 20 years of experience working with adolescents and families impacted by trauma and uses this experience in her work as an educator to provide a holistic and student-centered approach to teaching and learning.
