About Us
Overview
The Voices of Behavioral Health (VBH) Lab facilitates opportunities for behavioral healthcare agencies to amplify client voices and meaningfully engage clients in measuring the effectiveness and reach of agency services. Using methods such as Photovoice and participatory evaluation, the VBH Lab collaborates with agency partners to design, deliver, and build agency staff capacity to conduct client engagement strategies while training the next generation of southwestern Florida mental health practitioners (both USF undergraduate behavioral healthcare majors and PhD students in the USF interdisciplinary behavioral and community sciences program). USF undergraduate and graduate behavioral healthcare students are supervised by Dr. McGladrey in the planning and implementation of needs assessment, program evaluation, and quality improvement projects addressing partners' specific priorities for better understanding their clients’ perceptions and usage of services while training staff to incorporate project strategies into their routines of practice.
