Dr. Elizabeth Cass is an Associate Professor of Instruction and the Graduate Coordinator. She received her M.A. (1985) and Ph.D. (1991) from the State University of New York at Albany. After teaching for three years at Florida State University, Dr. Cass spent 18 years working as a researcher and consultant in juvenile justice for governmental, non-profit and for-profit agencies. Dr. Cass was involved in the nationwide efforts to bring evidence- based practices to the field of juvenile justice.  Her work began when she was a researcher for the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice and continued as a consultant in multiple jurisdictions across the country. Her previous work focused on all aspects of juvenile justice programming from risk assessment and evidence-based treatment to process evaluation and impact assessment. She worked with hundreds of juvenile justice workers to promote change both at the individual and organizational level.

Due to her administrative duties, Dr. Cass does not currently have an active research agenda and is not working with graduate students.
