Associate Professor Tina Dillahunt-Aspillaga Receives Diplomate Classification from the College of Vocational Rehabilitation Professionals
CFS Associate Professor Tina Dillahunt-Aspillaga is now a Diplomate of the . As the national, self-regulatory body for the vocational rehabilitation (VR) profession, CVRP's primary function is to ensure their members are qualified, competent and following clearly defined standards of practice and ethics. CVRP also encourages and supports registrants who hold the professional credentials of Certified Vocational Rehabilitation Professionals (CVRP) and Canadian Certified Vocational Evaluator (CCVE) in good standing are eligible to apply for the credential laddering to the status of Fellow or Diplomate.
The CVRP(D) classification recognizes senior practitioners at the highest level of professionalism in the VR field who have achieved at minimum a Master’s degree in a VR field or a Master’s degree in a related field in addition to the completion of a certificate program outlined in the Fellowship Checklists. Also required are sub-specialties of expertise such as the development of courses, training programs, teaching, contributions to peer-reviewed journals and mentoring. A greater number of activities in the vocational rehabilitation field are required to attain the CVRP(D) status.
Dr. Dillahunt-Aspillaga is a faculty member in the Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling Program in the USF Department of Child and Family Studies. Her work focuses on the reintegration of veterans with TBI into their communities, improving patient and caregiver quality of life.
