Professional Weekend MBA

The newly re-designed Professional Weekend MBA optimizes a balance between flexibility and engagement. Using a hybrid format, students meet for classes one Saturday per month at the Sarasota-Manatee campus, choosing one morning and afternoon course from each block. In addition to live class, these sessions feature valuable engagement opportunities through provided networking lunches. Between class sessions, students benefit from asynchronous learning, allowing them to choose when and where to participate in online coursework. Students also have the option to take evening classroom based courses at the USF Tampa campus and a variety of fully online courses.

What does hybrid mean?

Courses that use hybrid learning feature a mix of live, classroom based learning and online learning. In this program, the online components of hybrid courses are always asynchronous. Many professors teaching hybrid format courses choose a “flipped classroom” model where content that would traditionally be delivered in a classroom lecture is instead delivered in asynchronous online components. This approach saves the limited classroom time for the most valuable peer-to-peer and peer-to-faculty engagement opportunities like case discussions, simulations, etc.

What does asynchronous mean?

Asynchronous learning simply means that the learner has control over when and where they participate in the course. Deadlines for deliverables still apply, but they are not required to appear in person or live online at a specific time or place for asynchronous components.

The Professional Weekend MBA is best suited for professionals that want to limit their required time on campus, while continuously building valuable relationships with peers and faculty. In addition to the valuable in class engagements and asynchronous online learning, students can take advantage of many other online and in person co-curricular opportunities like career coaching, grad connect week socials, workshops, and much more.

International students seeking an F-1 student visa for study in the U.S. are not eligible to enroll due to the limited in-person contact hours of this program.
