Annual Grant Competition
Call for Proposals - Annual Scholar Grant Competition
Description
THE INSTITUTE FOR THE STUDY OF LATIN AMERICA AND THE CARIBBEAN (ISLAC) encourages and facilitates interdisciplinary research, teaching, and dissemination of knowledge to improve the understanding of Latin America, the Caribbean and Latino/a/x histories, cultures, and issues in the US. To fulfill this goal, ISLAC is sponsoring the Annual Scholar Grant for the academic year 2022/2023.
The grant will enable ISLAC Affiliated Scholars (faculty, instructors, postdoctoral fellows) to conduct research on issues pertaining Latin American and/or the Caribbean region or Latinx in the United States. The research grant is set to cover the cost of hiring students, travel to conduct fieldwork, expenses related to research (bibliography, copying, transportation, software etc.). Certain activities such as travel to professional meetings, secretarial costs, and salary support for the principal investigator are excluded from funding.
