Fall 2024 IBL-Supported Internships
How IBL-Supported Internships Work
The Institute on Black Life, in collaboration with the School of Interdisciplinary Global Studies, has developed partnerships with local organizations in the Tampa Bay area to provide pathways to academic credit-earning internships for all undergraduate students who are interested in these opportunities. Students can earn 3-6 credits for their internships and receive a "Satisfactory" or "Unsatisfactory" on their transcripts after completion. Internships provide opportunities for students to build their resumes, network and establish professional relationships, and put their coursework into action by completing meaningful projects.
All students who are accepted into these internships are automatically eligible to enroll in AFA 4940, which is how they will earn academic credit for the internship. AFA 4940 is not a separate class; it is the internship itself.
