Dr. Jody McBrien has published her first working paper

SIGS professor Dr. Jody McBrien has published her first working paper titled, , at the . Dr. McBrien talks about how social and emotional learning (SEL) strengthens a student’s ability to regulate their emotions, thoughts, interactions, etc. and how these are supported by various social and emotional skills (SES). While these are necessary, newcomer and refugee students may find these challenging. Dr. McBrien examines the current situation of newcomer and refugee students in OECD countries, how the framework and skills apply to them, and what policies and practices affect them.
