Ancient Studies Center

The Ancient Studies Center was established in 2008 to provide enrichment opportunities for students of history and related disciplines engaged in the study of the ancient Mediterranean world. The ASC aims to encourage the study of ancient Mediterranean history, Classical languages and literature, Greek / Roman / Mediterranean archaeology, and other related fields. Humanities Institute

The Humanities Institute at the ßÙßÇÂþ»­ (USF) is an interdisciplinary research center that aims to address fundamental and longstanding questions about the human condition through the examination of the complex dynamic between race, gender, socioeconomic status, religion, ethnicity, sexual identity, age, and other factors. The Humanities Institute supports and encourages collaboration, engaged scholarship, and intellectual conversation among scholars at USF and in the community. More information about the Humanities Institute can be found here.

Institute for Digital Exploration

The mission of the Institute for Digital Exploration (IDEx) is to contribute to the development of digital scholarship and popularize the humanities and social sciences among the student population and a wider global community by tackling major themes in the field such virtual repatriation, memory in the digital age, digital colonialism and digitally enhanced cognition. The Institute applies 3D digital techniques and advanced 3D visualization for the documentation, analysis, interpretation, and online dissemination of global cultural heritage sites and historical and archaeological collections, emphasizing those that are endangered, inaccessible, or underrepresented. The Institute collaborates with local and international partners to foster projects in the fields of remote sensing, digital curation, virtual museums, and digital communication of cultural heritage through the critical use of state-of-the-art technologies and the development of innovative methodologies in digital history and digital archaeological research. The Institute for Russian, European, and Eurasian Studies

The mission of the Institute for Russian, European and Eurasian Studies (IREES) is to advance knowledge and understanding of Russia in a global, regional and historical context. The Institute is primarily concerned with promoting interdisciplinary research and teaching in three key areas related to global and human security, media and journalism, as well as culture and the arts. An improved understanding of Russia is critical for our democracy and for global security. IREES seeks to educate students and the public not only about Russia and the surrounding region, but about various points of US-Russian conflict and cooperation.
