BIO
Christopher R. Thomas received his B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in economics from Texas
A&M University (1975 and 1980). Thomas worked for two years as an energy economist
at Oak Ridge National Laboratory before coming to ßÙßÇÂþ» in 1982.
He teaches managerial economics at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. Professor
Thomas also teaches courses in business strategy and organization, and government
regulation and antitrust. He has won numerous awards for teaching. He served as
Exide Professor of Sustainable Enterprise 2004-2010.
Professor Thomas has published a number of scholarly articles on government regulation
of industry and antitrust issues in the Quarterly Journal of Economics,
Journal of Law and Economics, Southern Economic Journal, Journal of Economics and Business,
Journal of Economic Education, Review of Law and Economics, Atlantic Economic Journal,
Oil and Gas Tax Quarterly, and Quarterly Review of Economics and Business. Professor Thomas also coauthors Managerial Economics (McGraw-Hill/Irwin), which is currently in its eleventh U.S. edition and ninth Chinese
edition. Thomas is coeditor of the Oxford Handbook in Managerial Economics (forthcoming April 2013) and serves on the Oxford Handbook editorial board.
