USF, Prep and Me, and Pearson Collaboration

The secondary mathematics education program and the Coalition of Science Literacy collaborated with the Prep and Me Program in Spring 2023 to create an opportunity for high-achieving secondary students to engage in mathematics enrichment activities that promotes computational and mathematical thinking. This initiative created opportunities for our secondary students to engage in higher-level cognitively demanding tasks. It also provided preservice teachers opportunities to reflect on best practices for teaching mathematics in a virtual setting while maintaining mathematical rigor.
