The January Faculty Senate meeting had a some new business items outlined below and also included a recap of major agenda items from the past year - keep reading for the highlights. 

• Budget Council
  • The Academic Planning and Budget Council was approved by the Faculty Senate, review the full charge here. The council is currently accepting nominations, faculty interested in serving on the council can complete this form.
• Recordings
  • The faculty Senate meetings are being recorded and available for your reviewing, email fsenate@usf.edu to request a copy.
•  The Faculty Senate reviewed key areas of focus and major agenda items from the last year, President Boaz presented a summary of progress on each of the items below and discussed areas for future action and updates.

  • Faculty Success Initiative

  • Presidential Search

  • Academic Analytics/Faculty Evaluations

  • Strategic Plan

  • Stadium

  • Technology

• Legislative Budget
  • The state budget looks to be in good form but we can expect some conservative actions with recurring funding based on unknown impacts from inflation. The Faculty Senate will continue to watch developments related to the state budget.
• President's Search
  • The search firm is reviewing prospects and the search committee is expected to meet in the coming weeks.
• Upcoming and future items to be considered by the Faculty Senate include:
  • Regular budget updates,
  • CFI鈥檚 written reports from the faculty survey responses,
  • A conversation with President Law and General Counsel on items about racial justice,
  • A conversation with President Law on the vision for a 哔咔漫画 stadium,
  • A review of USF鈥檚 Academic Freedom policies (this is underway),
  • And monitoring items from the BOT and collaborate with ACFS.
