Biography

Dr. Xinming (Simon) Ou is professor of Computer Science and Engineering at University of South Florida. After receiving his PhD from Princeton University in 2005, he worked as a post-doctoral research associate at Purdue University's Center for Education and Research in Information Assurance and Security (CERIAS), and a research associate at Idaho National Laboratory. He joined Kansas State University as an assistant professor in 2006, where he was tenured and promoted to associate professor in 2012. He joined ßÙßÇÂþ»­ (USF) in Tampa, Florida in 2015.

Research Interests

Human-centered approaches to understanding/improving cybersecurity, CPS and IoT security, intrusion and malware analysis, mobile systems security, and new programming paradigms for security.

Teaching Interests

Practical and hands-on cybersecurity; secure coding; computer systems security
