Anchin Center cohosts Queering the Narrative webinar

In February, the David C. Anchin Center cohosted a webinar in partnership with USF’s College of Education and USF's Qualitative Advisory Group to discuss the importance of stories in resisting and rejecting oppressive legislation. Nearly 100 participants tuned in to learn from presenter Stephanie Anne Shelton, PhD.
Dr. Stephanie Anne Shelton is an Associate Professor of Qualitative Research and Program Chair of the Educational Research Program in the College of Education at The University of Alabama. She is also an affiliate faculty member in the university’s Department of Gender and Race Studies and the Gifted Education Program.
Dr. Shelton is a leading scholar in qualitative methodologies and LGBTQ+ leadership and advocacy in education. Her publications have appeared in “Qualitative Inquiry,” the “International Journal of Qualitative Studies in Education,” “Qualitative Research Journal,” “GLQ: A Journal of Lesbian and Gay Studies,” and the “Journal of Lesbian Studies,” as well as in four books. She was the 2020 recipient of the American Educational Research Association's Early Career Award in Measurement and Research Methodology and the 2021 recipient of the NCTE LGBTQ+ Leadership and Advocacy Award.
