TA Teaching Orientation

Fall 2024 TA Orientation will be offered online.

• Course Name: IDS 5921 Teaching Assistant Orientation    CRN: 96791

You must register for the TA Orientation course, IDS 5921, through Student Self-Service using the CRN above. The orientation consists of two parts: a set of Canvas modules and quizzes that should be completed prior to the first day of the Fall semester, as well as an online sychronous session via Microsoft Teams. Sessions will be offered on the following days:

• Thursday, August 22nd from 10:00 am -12:00 pm
• Friday, August 23rd from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

The same session will be offered on both days. TAs only need to attend one of the sessions. Registration for the synchronous session will be done through the Canvas course. 

The orientation course must be completed prior to the first day of the Fall semester in order to be in compliance with the Office of Graduate Studies training requirement for new TAs. The course will be open in Canvas in July 2024.
