Title: Associate Professor of Instruction |
Nicoleta “Nickie” Zenn is an Associate Professor of Instruction in the Department of Mental Health Law & Policy at the . Mrs. Zenn teaches courses in the Mental Health Law & Policy Behavioral Healthcare Major. She received her Specialist in Education (Ed.S.) in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in School Psychology. Mrs. Zenn served as the Executive Director of the Multiagency Network for Students with Emotional and Behavioral Disabilities and the Youth Mental Health Awareness and Training Administration Projects. Mrs. Zenn also served as a member of the Task Force on Involuntary Examination of Minors, the Governor’s Roundtable on School Safety, the Children’s Mental Health System of Care State Advisory Team, the Statewide Multi-Agency Review Team, and the Florida Youth Justice Commission. Mrs. Zenn has over 20 years of combined experience working in the education and public health arena. Her previous positions include Director of a Family Resource Center, Pre-Kindergarten Coordinator of Behavioral Health training and intervention, Psychological Examiner at the Vanderbilt Child Development Center and at a Community Mental Health Center.
Mrs. Zenn’s are of focus included trauma-informed practices, compassion fatigue, crisis intervention, behavioral threat assessment, emotional and behavioral disabilities, dyslexia, evidence-based practices, early intervention, positive behavior supports, social justice, disproportionate discipline and children’s behavioral system of care.
Mrs. Zenn is a certified trainer of the NASP PREPaRE: School Crisis Prevention and Intervention Training Workshops I and II, Youth Mental Health First Aid Trainer (YMHFA) and Hearth Math the Resilience Advantage.
