Dr. Hastings is an Assistant Professor of Instruction in the Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling (RMHC) Program in the Department of Child and Family Studies at USF. She earned her PhD in Counselor Education at the University of North Texas where she specialized in Play Therapy. Other areas of interest include transpersonal counseling, near death experiences, resiliency, trauma-informed care, animal-assisted therapy, and school counseling.
Within the RMHC program, Dr. Hastings, teaches graduate course in Mental Health Counseling that include Counseling Skills and Techniques; Practicum; and Internship. She also will be helping with field placement coordination.
In addition to her responsibilities at the University, Dr. Hastings works in private practice and conductions continuing education trainings on Play Therapy, Sand Tray Therapy, and School Counseling best practice.
