Oliver T. Massey, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor and Co-Division Director of the Child & Behavioral Health Division in the Department of Child and Family Studies, College of Behavioral & Community Sciences at the ßÙßÇÂþ».
His doctorate is in Psychology and was earned from the University of Tennessee. He has twenty years post graduate experience in applied research, consultation, and evaluation. Prior to joining USF, he was Director of Research and Evaluation for the Missouri Department of Mental Health where he developed, validated and implemented the Missouri Level of Care, an assessment instrument used in that state for the placement of consumers in community settings. His specialties include applied research and evaluation of community based services for individuals with mental illness. Of special interest is the evaluation of the organization and effectiveness of behavioral and mental health services in public schools.
Current evaluation activities include evaluation of DOE funded GEAR-UP and ongoing involvement in the evaluation of DOE/SAMHSA funded Safe Schools/Healthy Students sites. He is the author of the book, Evaluating Human Research Development Programs: A Practical Guide for Public Agencies (1996) and numerous publications and book chapters devoted to evaluation in the applied sector.
Dr. Massey’s experiences include extensive consultations with local community and state agencies. He currently serves as Chair of the Hillsborough County Anti-bullying Advisory Committee, which was created in 2009 to provide advice and recommendations to curb and eliminate all forms of bullying throughout Hillsborough County.
