Dr. Amanda DePippo, an Associate Professor of Instruction in the Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling Program, is also the Field Placement Director. A 2006 graduate of USF's  Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling program, Dr. DePippo has her PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision. She is a licensed mental health counselor and certified addiction professional and is a qualified supervisor in the State of Florida.

Dr. DePippo has served as a clinical director, assistant clinical director, and therapist at HealthCare Connection of Tampa, an outpatient therapist at DACCO, and as a therapist at Restoration Counseling Center. During her tenure at HealthCare Connection of Tampa, she established assessments, education programs, and process groups for individuals with eating disorders. At DACCO, she was  an outpatient therapist and facilitated drug intervention and treatment groups for the adult population, managing a caseload of 30 clients.  In her private practice, Dr. DePippo focuses on individual and couples counseling to adolescents and adults struggling with mental health and/or addiction issues.

Dr. DePippo's article, Women’s Addiction Treatment: The Internal Makeover, published in the Tampa Woman Magazine, examines some of the issues involved in treating addiction and co-occurring disorders. She believes that females are often the most overlooked group when it comes to chemical dependency, particularly since women are so good at hiding their problems.  However, she also believes that treating the root of the addiction is critical; without acknowledging the underlying issue, recovery is impossible.
