ABA Program Director Raymond Miltenberger Publishes 7th edition of Behavior Modification: Principles and Procedures
ABA Director Raymond Miltenberger has published the 7th edition of his popular textbook, . This book, first published in 1997, is a commonly assigned textbook for undergraduate and graduate courses in applied behavior analysis or behavior modification. It provides a comprehensive and systematic introduction to the principles and procedures of ABA, using a precise, step-by-step, scientific approach to explain human behavior.
In this new edition, Miltenberger has updated the content to reflect the latest research and developments in ABA and has added new content areas such as verbal behavior and stimulus equivalence. In addition to practice quizzes, practice tests, and application and misapplication exercises from the previous edition, the new edition includes self-assessment exercises designed to help students master the material.
Miltenberger says that his goal for this book is to "describe basic principles of behavior so that the student learns how environmental events influence human behavior and to describe behavior modification procedures so that the student learns the strategies by which human behavior may be changed." He hopes that his book will help students develop a solid foundation in behavior analysis and prepare them for their future careers as behavior analysts.
