As part of the end of Spring Semester, graduate and undergraduate students in the Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Program shared their research at the graduate and undergraduate poster sessions.

ABA Minor Research

The ABA minor supports students seeking knowledge and skills in the field and is especially valuable for those seeking to become a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA), or those seeking to prepare for a graduate program in ABA. Behavior Analysts work with many populations across multiple areas. Throughout the course work, opportunities are presented for students to gain clinical and research experience in the field of ABA. As part of that experience, they share knowledge gained during the research poster sessions.

Marqueline Cenatus, an ABA doctoral student, organized and hosted the undergraduate research poster session. This event introduced students to the process of developing a research proposal and disseminating expected findings. These research projects evaluated the efficacy of interventions on increasing physical activity of elementary children.

Graduate Community Applications of Behavior Analysis (CABA)

The ABA program also held its 17th Annual CABA Expo for graduate students to share outcomes of their field work case study findings with program faculty, students, and fieldwork supervisors.  ABA M.S. and online ABA M.A. students are required to accrue fieldwork in one of the program's affiliated fieldwork sites. Students work an average of 20 hours per week at their fieldwork sites under the direct supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). ABA students provide over 35,000 of community service through practicum placements annually. These case studies focused on a variety of topics including developmental disabilities, autism, education, child protective services, child behavior disorders, rehabilitation, mental health, and business and technology.
