Distinguished speakers make USF appearances
Tampa, FL (January 22, 2013) — A full slate of business leaders will appear at the USF Muma College of Business this spring to share their business expertise, life lessons, and personal wisdom with students.
From the former president of Madison Square Garden Sports to the executive vice president for The Nielsen Company, the Muma College of Business provides its students with not only academic learning, but insight and connection to the worldwide business community.
Some examples of the wide-ranging expertise that business students have already had access to at USF in the past few months include Brigadier General John W. Baker, who serves as CIO of the U.S. Central Command, spoke to students in December about IT, communications, and his career; FedEx CIO Rob Carter, who spoke to students and community technology professionals about the future of technology; and Scott O'Neil, the former president of Madison Square Garden Sports, who spoke to Sport & Entertainment Management MBA students and others about sport business.
The current guest speakers scheduled to appear at the Muma College of Business this spring include:
Jan. 24
- Michael Babb, president of Florida Energy Capital, will will be speaking as part of the undergraduate speakers series. Open only to students in the class.
Jan. 31
- Jabil Circuit CEO Mark Mondello will be speaking to MBA students. Open to all MBA and EMBA students and invited guests.
- John Simmons, CEO of Lifestyle Family Fitness, will be speaking as part of the undergraduate speakers series. Open only to students in the class.
Feb. 1
- Jim Stikeleather, executive strategist/chief innovation officer at Dell, will be speaking as part of the EMBA Distinguished Speaker Series. Open to EMBA students and alumni.
Feb. 7
- Robert Fisher, president & CEO of Grow Financial Credit Union, will be speaking as part of the undergraduate speakers series. Open only to students in the class.
Feb 14
- Oscar Horton, president & CEO of Sun State International Trucks, will be speaking as part of the undergraduate speakers series. Open only to students in the class.
Feb. 21
- Janice Davis, CEO for Ronald McDonald House, will be speaking as part of the undergraduate speakers series. Open only to students in the class.
Feb. 26
- Nearly two dozen of the world's leading businesswomen will be sharing their expertise in breakout sessions as part of the USF-hosted C200 reachout. Sessions are open to all ßÙßÇÂþ» students and will be held from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Muma College of Business atrium.
Feb. 28
- Dirk Montgomery, executive vice president of Bloomin' Brands Inc., will be speaking as part of the undergraduate speakers series. Open only to students in the class.
March 1
- Stuart Lasher, founder and partner at Quantum Capital, will be speaking as part of the EMBA Distinguished Speaker Series. Open to EMBA students and alumni.
March 7
- Bob McCann, executive vice president for Nielsen, will be speaking as part of the undergraduate speakers series. Open only to students in the class.
March 21
- Jeff Hearn Sr., vice president of investments for Raymond James, will be speaking as part of the undergraduate speakers series. Open only to students in the class.
March 28
- Pat O'Conner, president & CEO for Minor League Baseball, will be speaking as part of the undergraduate speakers series. Open only to students in the class.
April 4
- Bob Dutkowsky, CEO of Tech Data Corp., will be speaking as part of the undergraduate speakers series. Open only to students in the class.
April 11
- Tanya Vomacka, vice president of marketing and corporate relations for MOSI, will be speaking as part of the undergraduate speakers series. Open only to students in the class.
April 18
- Sinan Gurman, senior principal for Infosys, will be speaking as part of the undergraduate speakers series. Open only to students in the class.
