Muma College of Business Welcomes Distinguished Professor to Faculty
Professor Ron Rutherford joins new Master of Science in Real Estate Program
TAMPA – The ßÙßÇÂþ» (USF) Muma College of Business is pleased to announce the addition of Professor Ron Rutherford as the holder of the Lykes Chair of Finance and Sustainability. Professor Rutherford will join the Finance Department, spearheading the new Master of Science in Real Estate Program (MSRE).
Professor Rutherford comes to the Muma College of Business from the University of Texas, San Antonio where he held the E.J. Burke, Jr. Endowed Chair and was a professor in the Department of Finance. Prior to that, he held positions at the University of Texas, Arlington and Georgia Southern University. He received his Ph.D. and MBA from the University of Georgia.
He has published more than 40 research articles during his career. His research productivity ranked #6 among the top 50 authors publishing in core real estate journals, according to the Journal of Real Estate Literature. His research interests include housing markets and foreclosure, leasing, real estate investment trusts, and agent productivity, among others.
"Professor Rutherford brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise that will help advance our new MSRE program," said Bob Forsythe, dean of the USF Muma College of Business. "He will be an integral part to the Muma College of Business' solid foundation that is its faculty."
The MSRE program launches this fall in the Muma College of Business. It is a specialized degree, blending study in business, geography, architecture, and engineering. The program does not require previous professional experience and can be completed in three semesters.
