For USF dance professor, Jeanne Travers, Dance is a Way of Life
For USF dance professor, Jeanne Travers, dance is a way of life. “My mom says I was dancing the minute I burst into the world,” said Travers who teaches modern dance, choreography, entry seminar and pedagogy within the School of Theatre and Dance.
While earning her undergraduate and graduate degrees, Travers fell in love with the university community for all its possibilities to work as a professional dancer, choreographer and teacher for new generations of artists. Throughout her time at USF, Travers has taken joy in working collaboratively to choreograph performances that focus on issues of social justice that help to educate audiences. “Choreography can be inspired by everything and anything,” Travers said.
