Francesca Arnone, Assistant Professor of Instruction, Flute, and Coordinator of the Community Arts Project, School of Music 
Dr. Arnone has taught at USF for four years, and in fall 22 became a permanent faculty member. Prior to USF, she served on the faculty at Baylor University, West Virginia University, Boise State University, and Idaho State University. She’s a member of the Palm Beach Opera Orchestra and an Affiliate Musician with the Sarasota Opera and performs with orchestras around the state of Florida, such as the Orlando Philharmonic and Naples Philharmonic.  

Trevor Butts, Assistant Instructor, Director of Athletic Bands, School of Music
Trevor oversees the Herd of Thunder marching band and the Concert Band ensemble. In the Spring, he will oversee the Rumble Pep Band, Concert Band ensemble, and teach the Marching Band Techniques course. Trevor is a two-time alumnus of USF receiving his undergraduate in Music Education and a masters in Instrumental Conducting. Trevor is finishing his DMA in Wind Band Conducting from Louisiana State University and will graduate in Spring 2023.  

Calvin Falwell, Assistant Professor of Instruction, Clarinet, School of Music
Calvin Falwell has served on USF’s Music and Honors Faculty since 2010 as a full-time adjunct. He joins the College of the Arts in fall 2022 as a full-time permanent faculty member teaching applied clarinet, bass clarinet and courses in popular music and culture. Falwell also holds the 3rd/Bass Clarinet chair with the Sarasota Orchestra and can be found performing with the Charlottesville Opera Festival and Killington Chamber Music Festival during the summer months.

Carissa Heinrichs, Research Associate, Production Printer, Institute for Research in Art/Graphicstudio
Carissa Kalia Heinrichs is a Research Associate Production Printer at Graphicstudio. She is a printmaker and interdisciplinary artist recently relocated to the Tampa Bay Area from the Hudson Valley in New York. Previously, she worked as a letterpress printer for a book bindery and was the May artist-in-residence with the Tides Institute & Museum of Art in Eastport, Maine.

Allyssa Jones, Assistant Instructor, Vocal Ensemble Director, School of Music
Allyssa Jones is an award-winning musician and educator whose career spans nearly 30 years. Her creative credits include five solo recordings as a singer-songwriter; over 35 theatrical productions as a composer, music director and sound designer; and commissioned works for professional artists and pedagogical projects. At the intersection of these experiences is Jones’ work with Rising Tide Music Press, a non-profit publishing company she founded to create pathways for emerging Black, Brown, Indigenous and Asian composers. 

Dr. Bertie Kibreah, Assistant Professor, Ethnomusicology, School of Music
Dr. Kibreah joins the College of the Arts’ School of Music this fall, 2022. Dr. Kibreah is an ethnomusicologist (PhD 2019, University of Chicago), South Asianist, and musician. His work considers Indic and Islamic devotionalisms within, between, and beyond the region of Bengal and, increasingly, amongst Bengali pluralities across Bangladesh, East India, the Bay of Bengal, and beyond. His interests in devotion are particularly informed by discourses of pilgrimage, festivals, memory, song, orality-aurality, inter-generationalism, and migration.

Kristen Martino, Assistant Professor, Scenic and Lighting Design, School of Theatre & Dance
Kristen Martino recently joined the School of Theatre and Dance as Assistant Professor of Scenic and Lighting Design. Kristen was previously a freelance scenic designer based in Chicago and the Visiting Assistant Professor of Scenic Design at University of Florida in Gainesville, FL. Kristen’s designs have been seen around the country and many theatres including Drury Lane Theatre, Gulfshore Playhouse, Shenandoah Summer Music Theatre, The Goodman, Porchlight Music Theatre, and Indiana University. 

Adriana Pablos, Assistant Professor, School of Architecture & Community Design
Adriana Pablos recently accepted the position of Assistant Professor of Architecture. Before joining the College of The Arts, she taught at Wentworth Institute of Technology and served as Executive Director of the RCC (Real Colegio Complutense) at Harvard University. Adriana’s research focuses on the adaptation of existing buildings, landscapes, and communities to promote a socially and ecologically sustainable response to physical and cultural urban obsolescence. 

Matthew Squires, Research Associate, Production Printer, Institute for Research in Art/Graphicstudio
Matthew Squires has joined the permanent faculty as Production Printer Research Associate after serving as a Printer and Production Coordinator for Graphicstudio since 2005. Matthew produces limited edition prints and sculptural multiples in tandem with emerging and internationally renowned artists. His collaborations and research encompass both traditional and experimental processes. Many of the collaborative works have been included in collections and exhibitions at major institutions both nationally and internationally.

Christian Viveros-Fauné, Research Associate, Curator-At-Large, Contemporary Art Museum
Christian Viveros-Fauné has worked as a gallerist, art fair director, art critic, and curator since 1994. He’s been with ßÙßÇÂþ»­ since 2018 and has now been appointed a permanent faculty position as Curator- at-Large at the Contemporary Art Museum. He was awarded the ßÙßÇÂþ»­â€™s Kennedy Family Visiting Fellowship in 2018, a Creative Capital/Warhol Foundation Grant in 2009 and named Critic in Residence at the Bronx Museum in 2011.

Susanna Wallin, Assistant Professor, Video, School of Art & Art History
Susanna Wallin is joining USF in fall 22 as Assistant Professor of Film and Video in the School of Art and Art History. She was born in Lund, Sweden but has lived most of her adult life in London, UK, where she studied Film & Video at University of the Arts and Art at Goldsmiths University. Her award-winning films combines experimental traditions along with narrative practices and is shown in both cinema and gallery contexts.

Margaret Winter, Assistant Research Professor, Florida Center for Community Design & Research, School of Architecture & Community Design
Maggie Winter is transitioning into her role as Assistant Research Professor, a permanent faculty position in fall 2022, after having studied in (MUCD) and worked for the Florida Center for Community Design & Research (FCCDR) in the School of Architecture & Community Design. She has been with ßÙßÇÂþ»­ since 2019 and previously worked as an architect, advocate, and educator in Salt Lake City, San Luis Obispo, Dallas, and the Lower Rio Grande Valley.
