Ross Holcombe has been on the faculty of the ßÙßÇÂþ» School of Music since 2024. His duties include teaching studio trombone lessons and conducting the USF Trombone Choir. Ross attended the New England Conservatory of Music where he received both his Master of Music and Bachelor of Music degrees in Trombone Performance. Ross has formerly served on the faculties of Florida Southern College, Whitworth University, Eastern Washington University, and Gonzaga University where he taught studio lessons, conducted the trombone choirs, and coached brass chamber music.
In addition to his duties at USF Ross is the Associate Principal Trombonist of The Florida Orchestra and Principal Trombonist of the Bellingham Festival Orchestra. Ross has previously served as the Principal Trombonist of the Spokane Symphony, and Associate Principal trombonist of the Vermont Symphony. Ross has also performed with ensembles across North America including the Seattle Symphony, Oregon Symphony, Utah Symphony, Santa Fe Opera, Vancouver Symphony, United States Coast Guard Band, Rhode Island Philharmonic, Sarasota Orchestra, and the Naples Philharmonic. He has appeared as a soloist with the Florida Orchestra, Gonzaga University Wind Ensemble, NEC Symphonic Winds, and the Spokane Symphony.
