BIO

Vidisha Priyanka is an assistant instructor of journalism analytics in the Zimmerman School of Advertising & Mass Communications, where she teaches courses such as Mass Communication and Society, Basic Reporting, and Brand Journalism.

She has a master's degree in journalism from USF and has been teaching as an adjunct professor at ßÙßÇÂþ»­ since 2012. She works as an engagement editor and senior writer at Equinix, an Internet Bandwidth and data technology company that has a global presence though its data centers in 52 markets.

Professor Priyanka worked at The Poynter Institute for seven years where she managed the journalism education site News University (newsu.org) as an interactive learning manager. She helped shape the curriculum, worked with experts and helped create courses and other training for professional journalists. She taught online and in Poynter in-person seminars. She taught video storytelling, audience analytics, critical thinking, project management, leadership, multimedia storytelling and alternative story telling with digital tools.

She also worked as planning editor for digital video at TBO.com, media partner of The Tampa Tribune and WFLA-TV. In her 12 years at TBO.com she worked as an audience editor and news and special projects producer focusing resources on serving news audiences.

A native of India, she used to work as a content writer for the web edition of India Today, the largest selling political magazine in India, and as a reporter and content producer for The Times of India, New Delhi.
